VARC Nature Walks

VARC Nature Walks

Bring outdoor learning to your school with a guided Nature Walk led by Vancouver Avian Research Centre educators.

These walks take place in natural areas close to your school, such as nearby trails, parks, or greenspaces. Students will explore local habitats while learning about the birds, plants, and wildlife found in their community.

Along the way, they will be introduced to basic birding techniques and discover how sight, sound, behaviour, and habitat can help identify the species around them.

Nature Walks can be adapted for different grade levels and curriculum connections, providing an engaging opportunity to connect with nature and gain a deeper understanding of local ecosystems.
