VARC hosts VIP site visits on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) for small groups who would like the banding station exclusively to themselves for a morning during the main banding season (April 1st – October 31st). This is a wonderful opportunity to see our resident and migratory birds up close and personal, to observe the bird banding, take photographs and to hold and release birds under supervision. It is a unique experience which no one ever forgets!
Because of the environment and to ensure the safety and welfare of birds this event is more suitable for adults and children over the age of 6 and for VIP visits the group size is kept to a maximum of 10 people.
The main focus of VIP visits is, of course, the birds and the program will be flexible to ensure you get maximum exposure to the birds and banding operation but, there are other great perks to this package!

VARC is a registered charity and is run by volunteers but our programs, equipment and supplies require that we raise money every year.
We, therefore, ask our visitors to help with these costs.
For VIP groups we request a contribution of $500.00.
